SECTION 106 ARCHAEOLOGY GUIDANCE

This guidance is designed to assist federal agencies and stakeholders in making effective management decisions about archaeological resources when working with the review process established to implement Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The Questions and Answers in this guidance address real issues encountered in Section 106 review. Users are encouraged to submit comments and questions to help make this guidance more useful and keep the issues it addresses timely and relevant.

Current Issues in ACHP archaeology guidance

In addition to giving Section 106 users the opportunity to rate and provide comments on specific questions and answers, the ACHP occasionally will highlight a specific issue and invite you to send us your examples and observations on it.
