CNGR Updates:
ROA's Input Seen In DoD Implementation of CNGR
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates yesterday directed the Department of Defense to implement or continue taking action on 64 recommendations made by the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves. An ROA implementation plan is under development, and leadership will report progress on a regular basis.

Adm Mullen Confirmed as ROA's guest speaker
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Michael Mullen, confirmed as the joint luncheon speaker for ROA's Mid-Winter Conference. Aditionally, Bing West, noted author and former Assistant Secretary of Defense, will speak at the event.

Nominate your employer for the Freedom Award
The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. government to employers for their support of National Guard and Reserve employees. The nomination process is open to all Guard and Reserve personnel and their families. To nominate an employer, please complete and submit the form on the ESGR web site before 6 pm (1800) Eastern Standard Time (EST) on January 19, 2009. Nominations must come from a Guard or Reserve member who is employed by the organization they are nominating, or a family member of the employee.
