Fishing Opportunities
Natural Lakes
Except
for the northeast quarter of the Forest, opportunities to fish natural
lakes on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest are somewhat limited.
Ashton-Island Park and Teton Basin Ranger Districts offer the most
lakes per surface area and some exceptional natural flatwater angling
experiences. While some lakes are stocked every other year or so,
other lakes have naturally reproducing populations of trout.
Always be aware of Idaho
Department of Fish and Game or Wyoming Department of Game and Fish
angling regulations specific towards the lake you plan to enjoy
on the Forest.
