DRIVING DIRECTIONS
GARDEN STATE PARKWAY NORTH Take Parkway North to exit 144 (South Orange Avenue), pay toll, go straight through one traffic light. You will be on Eastern Parkway, which changes into Speed Way Avenue. At the second light (a cemetery will be directly in front of you) make a left on to South Orange Avenue. At the first light make an immediate right onto Maybaum Avenue. At the next light make a left onto Tremont Avenue. Continue on Tremont Avenue for about 1.2 miles (through 5 lights). You will see VA Medical center on your left. Turn left into the hospital entrance.
GARDEN STATE PARKWAY SOUTH Take Parkway South to exit 145 (Interstate 280 and Central Avenue). On the exit ramp, go straight toward Central Avenue, do not bear left for I-280.At the second light turn right onto Tremont Avenue. Continue on Tremont Avenue for about 1.2 miles (through 5 lights). You will see VA Medical center on your left. Turn left into the hospital entrance.
NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE (I-95) and I-280W Take the Turnpike to exit 15W to I-280W. Exit I-280W at exit 11B (South Day Street). Turn left at the second traffic light. Turn left again at the next traffic light. Go right at the next traffic light (at the church) on Center Street. Take Center Street for about 1 mile. Once you come to the park on your left, Center Street bears to the right. After bearing right, turn left at the light onto the Tremont Avenue. Make a quick right into the VA Medical Center entrance.
INTERSTATE I-280 EAST Take I-280 East to exit 11 (Center Street). Once you are on the exit ramp, go to the third light. There will be a church on the corner. Turn right onto the Center Street. Take Center Street for about 1 mile. Once you come to the park on your left, Center Street bears to the right. After bearing right, turn left at the light onto the Tremont Avenue. Make a quick right into the VA Medical Center entrance.
FROM NEWARK AIRPORT Take I-78W to Garden State Parkway North and follow directions from Garden State Parkway North
FROM PENN STATION NEWARK Go west on West Market Street for about 3 miles. Turn left onto Central Avenue and go about 2 miles. After you go over the Parkway turn left onto Whittlesey Avenue (parallel to Parkway). Go to first traffic light. Turn right on to Tremont Avenue. Continue on Tremont Avenue for about 1.2 miles (through 5 lights). You will see VA Medical center on your left. Turn left into the hospital entrance.
*** After you enter the VA property bear to the left so that main hospital building is to your right. Turn left into the visitor parking lot. After parking, go into the main entrance of the hospital. Pass straight ahead to the lobby through the visitor elevators. Take the elevators to the 11th floor and contact the receptionist. Once you are on the VA ground, you could contact the center by dialing 1414 or 2716 from any VA phone.
