Viewing the Course Modules
Requirements
The course modules offered through PTSD101 are in Microsoft PowerPoint
format. To view the courses, you must have either the full version of
PowerPoint (available for Windows and Macintosh), or the free PowerPoint
Viewer 2003 (available only for Windows), installed on your computer.
Download PowerPoint Viewer 2003
Courses with Instructor's Narration
Course modules with audio narration by the instructor are packaged
in ZIP format to reduce file size and download time. Each package
includes one PowerPoint Slideshow file (the course module),
several MP3 audio files (the narration), and a text-only transcription
of the narration.
Files for course modules with narration are much larger than
their counterparts without narration; participants are encouraged to
download the version most suitable for their needs.
Instructions:
- After downloading the course package from the module page,
unzip the package (instructions below).
- After unzipping the package, open the folder containing the
PowerPoint and audio files. Double-click the PowerPoint Slideshow file
to view the course. Do not move any files out of the folder, or the
audio will not play correctly.
- The narration will play automatically as you advance to each new
slide. At the conclusion of the narration for each slide, you will hear
a tone indicating you may advance to the next slide when you are ready
to do so.
- Click the speaker icon located in the bottom left corner of each
slide to stop and restart the narration.
Courses without Instructor's Narration
Course modules without audio narration by the instructor are packaged
in ZIP format to reduce file size and download time. Each package
includes one PowerPoint file (the course module) and a text-only
transcription of the narration.
Instructions:
- After downloading the course package from the module page,
unzip the package (instructions below).
- After unzipping the package, open the folder containing the PowerPoint
file. Double-click the PowerPoint file to view the course.
