Public Comment Period:  January 3, 2007 through February 1, 2007

A total of 89 commentors, both individuals and organizations, provided 218 comments on the draft strategic plan, primarily via the strategic plan website.  The majority of the comments focused on the implementation of the plan.  The major themes of the comments included:

1. Questions on how implementation will occur
   
   
2. Collaboration with other agencies and institutions
   
   
3. Continuing support of investigator-initiated research
