Step 1. Goals and objectives

The student will understand the risks, benefits, alternatives, and appropriate use of pharmacotherapy for diabetes and hypertension in the preconception patient.

The objectives for this module are:

  • The student will understand the physiology of hypertension and diabetes in the preconception patient.
  • The student will understand the pharmacology of medications used to treat hypertension and diabetes in the preconception patient.
  • The student will understand the treatment options for the preconception patient with hypertension and diabetes.
