Visiting Hours and Policies
Visiting hours are based on the needs of the patient, and visitors are encouraged to discuss any special visiting needs with the unit's head nurse. Whenever possible and medically appropriate, the nurse will coordinate special visiting arrangements to meet patient and family needs. Number of VisitorsA patient may receive no more than two visitors at a time. A child is considered a visitor. Visitors are required to wash their hands before and after contact with a patient. Food and BeveragesVisitors may not bring food or beverages to patients without authorization from unit physicians or nurses. ChildrenChildren under 16 years of age must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. ClergyMembers of the clergy are welcome to visit patients who are members of their particular religious group at any time at the discretion of the unit physicians or nurses. Quiet RoomA family/quiet room is available for families of critically ill patients. If needed, please ask your nurse or chaplain. |
