Veronica Singfield is the new branch chief of the NHSC Loan Repayment Branch and the Faculty Loan Repayment Program in BCRS’ Division of Application and Awards. Singfield previously worked in the U.S. Department of Defense, where she served as the spokesperson and director for the Army DoD/VA Healthcare Resources Sharing program on behalf of the Army Surgeon General.

Catherine Shaer is a new medical officer in HSB’s Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation (DVIC). Shaer recently served as a pediatrician and contract consultant to DVIC, reviewing autism claims. She also previously served as a medical officer in the Food and Drug Administration.

Sheila Norris is the new director of the AIDS Drug Assistance Program in HAB’s Division of Service Systems. Norris previously served as the branch chief of the Diversity Branch in the Bureau of Health Professions, Division of Health Careers Diversity and Development, where she managed health professions workforce grants.

Jim Haner is a new writer in the Office of Communications. Haner spent 20 years as an investigative reporter with three newspapers: the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Miami Herald, and the Baltimore Sun, where much of his work focused on public health, children’s issues, and urban affairs. Haner also wrote Soccerhead (published in 2006), a book that examines youth athletics in the United States.
