Public Law 94-437, directs the Indian Health Service (I H S) to identify plan, design, construct, and renovate and construct of hospitals, health centers, substance abuse treatment centers, and staff quarters, to establish joint venture demonstration projects under which Indian tribes or tribal organizations would acquire or construct a health facility and lease it and to acquire health care delivery space through a variety of cooperative efforts with the tribes, including entering into joint ventures and make health services more accessible to Indians.
