Mission

We are currently developing and applying a fully coupled model of the complete water cycle, including precipitation, surface water runoff and infiltration, and groundwater.

Other research activities include

• studying saturated-zone flow at Yucca Mountain,
• the migration of radionuclides,
• groundwater flow and transport in the Española basin,
• the impact of Laboratory activity on groundwater contamination in Northern New Mexico,
• and ecological risks from Laboratory-derived contamination in canyons surrounding Los Alamos.

Goal

We model complex real-world environmental problems in subsurface water flow and transport.
