簡介
早期識別和治療飲食失調和體重控制行為,可以防止進一步發展,降低慢性健康危害風險。

方法
2000 年,《全美飲食失調症篩查計畫》(National Eating Disorders Screening Program)開展了前所未有的針對全美高中的全國飲食失調篩查計畫。學生完成一份自述篩查問卷表,問卷表中包括飲食態度測驗 (EAT-26)、通過嘔吐或鍛煉控制體重的專案、暴食和飲食失調治療史。針對性別和人種/種族差異,進行了多因素回歸分析。

結果
大約 15% 的女生、4% 的男生,得分等於或高於 EAT-26 的閾值分數20 分,這表示可能存在飲食失調。我們注意到,女生在飲食失調症狀方面,種族群體之間幾乎沒有明顯差異;而在男生中間,非裔美國人、美國印第安人、亞裔/太平洋島國人、拉美裔男生報告症狀的人數要比白人男生多。總的來說,25% 的女生和11% 的男生報告存在飲食失調和體重控制症狀,而這些報告的症狀已經嚴重到應該接受臨床評估的程度。在這些表現出症狀的學生中,幾乎沒有學生報告曾接受過治療。

結論
