The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) completed a
project where we redesigned virtually all of our loan servicing regulations,
processes, and reporting requirements. The new regulatory environment is
being implemented through process changes, organizational changes, and a new
application service that replaces our current loan servicing system. The new
application service is called the VA Loan Electronic Reporting Interface
(VALERI).
VALERI went live on February 20, 2008. VA will
use the VALERI website at
http://homeloans.va.gov/valeri.htm to communicate all VALERI-related
information. We have also set up a VALERI
Helpdesk with phone number and email below:
ACTION
REQUIRED: In preparation for the VALERI
implementation, we ask that each mortgage
servicing company contact the VALERI
Helpdesk and provide contact information for
the primary person responsible for overseeing the
transition to VALERI, regardless of your go-live
date. Contact information includes name, phone
number, and email address.

Servicer Reporting
Requirements
*VA is updating the servicing
system interface specification (daily change file)
to include the transfer of custody date and the
redemption expiration date. This will mean
that servicers will no longer have to manually key
enter in the "transfer of custody" event on the
Servicer Web Portal (SWP) as this event will be
provided as part of the daily file. We will
phase in the implementation of these two new data
elements starting with the first group reporting
them as part of their daily file on February 1st,
2009. From that point forward, we will bring up new
servicers the first of every month. The last
date to comply with this reporting requirement will
be May 1st, 2009. We ask that you email the VALERI
helpdesk when you choose which group you choose.
Document Library for Servicers Live in VALERI
*If you transfer custody of a
property to VA, you have 60 days from the date of
the liquidation sale to submit title documents to
VA. In some cases, due to redemption periods,
confirmation hearings after sales, and/or delays in
recorders' offices, other timeframes after the sale
will apply for submission of title documents.
