Standing Committee on Information Technologies (SCIT)

The Standing Committee on Information Technologies (SCIT), which was created by WIPO Member States in 1998, serves as a forum to give policy guidance and technical advice on the overall information technology strategy of WIPO, including WIPO standards and the documentation aspects of intellectual property. Its membership comprises all WIPO Member States and observers.

Following the adoption of a new structure at its meeting in January 2001, the SCIT now has two subsiduary working groups for Information Technology projects and Standards and Documentation, respectively.

The SCIT area of the WIPO Web site provides access to all meeting documentation. It also currently includes access to information relating to Annual Technical Reports, the Journal of Patent Associated Literature and WIPO Standards.
