Modoc Interagency Hotshot Crew
The
Modoc Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC) was established in 2001, in
response to the National Fire Plan. On May 30, 2003, the Modoc crew
earned recognition as a fully qualified ICH, after completion of
a two-day certification process where they met or exceeded all requirements
specified in the National Interagency Hotshot Crew Operation Guide.
It was apparent that the crew worked and trained hard to earn
this certification. All members of the Hotshot Crew participated
as a cohesive unit to complete the certification process. It is
notable that through Superintendent Greg Keller’s leadership,
the crew obtained Interagency Hotshot Crew status in one year after
accepting the Superintendent position.
Strong
program leadership, vision and support from Forest Supervisor Stan
Sylva, Fire Staff Elizabeth Cavasso and Division Chief Robert Silva
were key ingredients in developing a successful program.
Congratulations to the Modoc Interagency Hotshot Crew.
