Fire Restrictions limit use of open flame, charcoal fires, smoking and operation of internal combustion engines.

CAMPFIRE REGULATION DURING FIRE RESTRICTIONS

Campfire permits are required in all designated signed “fire safe areas.

When fire restrictions are in effect you may use ONLY portable stoves with gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel outside of developed recreation sites or designated signed “Fire Safe" areas with a valid campfire permit.

An open fire outside a developed recreation site or fire safe area is no longer permitted.

A permit is available free-of-charge from any Forest Service, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Bureau of Land Management Office.

Keep Fire Safe by: Cleaning flammable material away for the fire to a minimum of 5 feet down to bare soil. Having a shovel and water next to your fire. Having a responsible person in attendance at all times. Acting quickly to prevent and escaped fire from spreading.

Putting out your campfire before you leave: DROWN it with water, STIR it and FEEL it to make sure it is “DEAD OUT”!
