Soldiers
and Sailors Civil Relief Act
The Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act of 1940 ("SSCRA") is
a federal statute designed to enable persons on active duty and
activated reservists to devote their attention exclusively to the
defense needs of the nation. The SSCRA provides for the temporary
suspension of civil proceedings that might prejudice the civil rights
of such persons.
