Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr)


Michele Richardson

 

Michele Richardson is the new director of the Division of Nursing. Richardson recently served as chief of the Diversity and Basic Nurse Education Branch in BHPr’s Division of Nursing, where she managed education and workforce grants to address the U.S. nursing shortage.

Sarah Richards

 

Sarah Richards is the new director of the Division of Student Loans and Scholarships. Richards previously served as acting director of BHPr’s Office of Workforce Policy and Performance Management. She has worked in the Bureau for 10 years, as an evaluation officer, a team leader, and twice as an acting branch chief.

Joan Weiss

 

Joan Weiss is the new director of the Division of Diversity and Interdisciplinary Education and executive secretary of the Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary Community-Based Linkages. Since coming to HRSA in 1998, Weiss has served the Bureau as a nurse consultant, a branch chief, a program chief, an acting deputy director, and an acting director.

Darryl Gray

 

Darryl Gray is the new director of BHPr's Division of Practitioner Data Banks. Gray previously served for eight years as chief of operations of the National Practitioner Data Bank and the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank. Prior to joining HRSA, Gray served 14 years as a computer scientist for the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Roger Straw

 

Roger Straw is the new director of the Office of Workforce Policy and Performance Management. In that position, he is responsible for a broad range of program planning, evaluation, coordination and analysis activities related to health professions in general and Bureau programs in particular. Straw previously served in HRSA’s Office of Information Technology.

Office of Federal Assistance Management (OFAM)


Jacinta Dorsey

 

Jacinta Dorsey is a new management analyst in OFAM and provides support to the executive officer. Dorsey previously served as a program analyst in BHPr, assisting the executive officer. She began her career at HRSA in 1995 with the Maternal and Child Health Bureau as a management analyst providing assistance in the Bureau’s administrative office. Her first government position was in FDA’s Office of Legislative Affairs.
