Thinking of publishing a paper? Check the new Review and Approval website!
LANL now has a new institutional process for Review & Approval (R&A) of Scientific and Technical Information (STI) intended for public release. The Research Library is responsible for the public dissemination of formally reviewed LANL STI via the DOE Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) databases and the Library's online catalog.
So, the next time you are thinking of publishing a paper take a look at the new R&A website for information on how to not only follow the proper process, but ensure that your paper is as widely disseminated as possible.
Once you have submitted your paper for the new R&A process and have received your LA-UR number, then be sure to check out the Research Library's new Los Alamos Authors database. Los Alamos Authors offers an updated interface and new search capabilities for finding unclassified data that previously were stored in the former Classification office (SAFE-1) database. This data was created at the Laboratory and covers any Laboratory publications that were submitted for classification review. The earliest records are from 1943 and the repository includes data for records through this year.
The search tool is housed on the yellow network and is available to Laboratory staff only. Los Alamos Authors data is stored in an open-source, standards-based repository managed by the Research Library.
You can
· find out where Los Alamos authors publish
· search by author, title, group, document number, document type, meeting information, program codes, or across all words in the record.
· use Facets, which allow narrowing and targeting search results
· view the Full record display, which contains links to fulltext where available.
