Use the PedNSS and PNSS Summary Health Indicator Trend tables to monitor patterns in the prevalence of health indicators. Information in these tables can help to identify health indicators that improve or worsen over time. These tables include all years that the contributor has participated in PedNSS or PNSS.

The following paragraphs provide general information about the table data that will help you with interpretation.
Title
For PedNSS and PNSS, the table titles show the health indicator or group of
health indicators that are analyzed in
the table.
For PNSS, the table title includes a group of health indicators but only
selected health indicators are included in the group.

Note that Anemia prevalence (%) improved more
than other health indicators during the 6-year period from 1997 to 2002
with a 5% decrease (from 16.9% to 11.9%). A health indicator that worsened during the same time period was the prevalence of Overweight (defined as > 95th) among children > 2 years of age which increased 0.8% (from 13.2% to 14.0%). |
