| Congratulations to
Dr. Bob Wiltrout for receiving the HHS Career Achievement Award. Dr. Ram Savan/Dr. Tim Chan (joint award) and Dr. Andy Stewart for receiving the NCI Directors Innovation Award 2009 Dr. Jie Li, who won the Student/Postdoctoral Fellow Travel Award at the Inflammation, Innate Immunity & Cancer, Soc. for Leukocyte Biology meeting 2008. Dr. Nadya Tarasova Our newest CIP members, Nadya Tarasova, for being awarded a Defense Department Prostate Cancer Research Program grant on Self-assembling peptide nanoparticles targeting prostate tumors(based on work done with Zack Howard and Jo Oppenheim). Dr. Stephanie Watkins Was selected as one of three recipients of an International Society for Biological Therapy Presidential Travel Award. 2008 NIH Graduate Student Research Award Winner Michael Nickerson, Ph.D., Laboratory of Experimental Immunology Mike was selected as having one of the two the best posters at the 5th Annual Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP) Graduate Student Research Symposium and received a $500 travel award. 2009 CCR-SS/SC Organization Officers All the votes have been counted and the 2009 CCR-Staff Scientist/Staff Clinician Organization Officers are: John Morris (SC Co-Chair) Yvona Ward (SS Co-Chair - Bethesda) Ana Robles (Secretary - Bethesda) O.M. Zack Howard (SS Co-Chair - Frederick) Bert Gold (Secretary - Frederick) Dr. Yinling Hu - Highlight Nature Reviews Cancer, Vol. 8, November 2008 Dr. Bert Gold received the Elliott Osserman Award for Distinguished Service in Support of Cancer Research. This award was given by the Israel Cancer Research Fund and recognizes Dr. Gold's service on the organization's scientific review panel. |
