ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONTravel Awards for Students and Postdoctoral FellowsA majority of the oral presentations and all posters will be selected from the submitted abstracts by the organizing committee. Abstracts must be received (by mail or email) by Monday, February 16, 2009. Presenters will be notified by Monday, March 9, 2009. A more detailed, but not exclusive, list of topics of interest can be found in the agenda. The session/categories are:
Session I Imaging Beta Cell Mass
Session II Pancreatic Vasculature, Architecture, and Neuroregulation Session III Islet Function Session IV Imaging of Islet Transplantation and Its Outcome Session V Imaging of Islet Inflammation Abstracts are limited to one page. Please include a title, all authors (presenting author should be clearly marked), academic or other affiliation, mailing and email addresses, along with sufficient experimental detail to assess the relevance of the work. Inclusion of figures is encouraged. Please indicate which session/category would be most appropriate for a presentation. Please indicate if you prefer to present your work as "talk or poster," or "poster only." Please acknowledge appropriate funding sources for your research. In addition to sending us your abstract, please check the "I will be submitting an abstract" button when you register for the workshop. There is no fee for registration. Students and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to attend this workshop. A limited number of travel awards are available for presenting postdoctoral fellows and students in the amount of $500. These will be chosen from among submitted abstracts on the basis of quality, significance, and need. If you would like to apply for a travel award, please include a short cover letter containing a brief biosketch along with your abstract.
