S. Res. 307—A Resolution Supporting Efforts To Increase Childhood Cancer Awareness, Treatment, And Research

On September 5, 2007, Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) introduced S. Res. 307, a resolution supporting efforts to increase childhood cancer awareness, treatment, and research. The resolution includes provisions calling for (1) increased public and private investment in childhood cancer research, (2) establishment of policies to provide incentives to encourage medical trainees and investigators to enter into pediatric oncology, (3) establishment of policies to provide incentives to encourage the development of drugs and biologics treat pediatric cancers, and (4) establishment of policies that encourage participation in clinical trials. S. Res. 307 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP). H. Res. 470 and S. Res. 325 are similar measures.
