Key Recruiter Program

What is a Key Recruiter?
The NIH Blood Donor Center is expanding its donor recruiter program.
The Blood Donor Center is calling for a network of volunteers to help
in the education and potential recruitment of all eligible employees.
We are looking for ethusiastic volunteers to act as Key Recruiters within
their Institutes. The Donor Resource Representatives in the Blood Donor
Center will collaborate with the Key Recruiters and provide educational
materials and updates of new programs and eligibility requirements. If
you are interested in becoming a Key Recruiter, contact the Blood Donor
Center at (301)496-1048.

Role of a Key Recruiter
If you become a Key Recruiter, you will:

  • Tell friends and co-workers about the NIH Blood Donor Program and
    ask them to participate.
  • Alert friends and co-workers in your area when there is a critical blood shortage.

To assist you in this effort, we will provide the following:

  • Ongoing contact with a Donor Resource Representative.
  • Flyers, brochures and other educational information.
  • Recruiting Guidelines.

Those interested in donating blood should contact the NIH Blood Donor Center at (301)496-1048 to set up an appointment, or E-mail:

to request a recruiter to contact you.

The slowest period is:
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Our peak times are:
12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

First-time donors should schedule their appointments no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

If the donor has any medical questions or concerns, please have them discuss this when they schedule an appointment.
