The on-line application is offered in hopes that it will make the STEP-UP application process as easy and convenient as possible for you and to insure timely receipt of the application before the February 15th deadline. You will need to create a username and Password so that you can return to work on your application over several sessions if necessary. Your information is transmitted through a secured server and is kept confidential until you submit your application. Only after you submit your application will it be available for the STEP-UP Program staff to review.

Please follow the application instructions carefully. You can only submit one application. If you have updates to any information you have submitted, please notify the NIH Program Contact at once.

If you are a High School Student, and unable to submit an on-line application, please download the printable PDF application and mail the application to the address indicated at the end of the application.

Submit only one application. DO NOT submit a PDF application by mail if you submit an application on-line.

Please note that the final application deadline is February 15, 2009. All paper applications AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS must be received by the deadline date.

Once you begin the application process, you can save your information and come back later. Scroll to the bottom of the application, create a user login and password, and press the Save Information tab BEFORE you exit. If you complete your application and are satisfied with your responses, press the Submit Final Application button at the end of the application. The application will be forwarded to the review committee and you will be unable to make changes. Remember, your login and password are case-sensitive and are only required if you are not ready to submit your Final Application.
