Literatures in English: Literary Criticism

Although some literary criticism can now be found through the free Internet, the vast majority of scholarly criticism is still found in print or through subscription databases accessible through libraries. Standard indexes to literary criticism available at most academic libraries include the Modern Language Association International Bibliography (MLAIB), the Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL), Humanities Index/Abstracts, and numerous other published bibliographies and indexes. A number of the Web sites found through the "Site Directories" section of this site will lead to individual author sites. Such sites typically contain brief biographical information, bibliographies, chronologies, and some essays or articles of literary criticism.
