Indian Health Care Improvement Act
During the 110th Congress, the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (S.1200/H.R. 1328) was introduced. The legislation worked to improve access to health care for Indians by streamlining bureaucracy and removing barriers to access such as cost-sharing and premiums to Medicaid. After review by the Senator Committee on Indian Affairs, the llegislation was placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar in mid-October.
