Hunting in Alaska
BLM managed public lands are generally open (unless specifically closed) to hunting under State of Alaska Fish and Game laws (http://www.wildlife.alaska.gov/ ).
All hunters need an Alaska hunting license to hunt within the State of Alaska.
Alaska is unique among the states because subsistence hunting on federally managed public lands is managed under federal rules and regulations adopted by the Federal Subsistence Management Program.
There is also subsistence hunting information on the State of Alaska Subsistence website.
