Glennallen Field Office: Federal Subsistence Hunting

 

Dickey Lake Subsistence Caribou Harvest.
 Units 13 and 13b Subsistence Harvest seasons: 
Moose:     August 1 - September 20. 
Caribou:   August 10 - September 30 and
                  October 21 - March 31. 

Federal Subsistence permits are available to eligibile applicants during regular business or specified hours at the following locations:

  • Glennallen Field Office at mile 186.5 Glenn Highway, Glennallen
  • Fairbanks District Office at 1150 University Avenue, Fairbanks
  • National Park Service Offices at:
    •Slana Ranger Station
    •Denali
  • Delta Junction Career Advancement Center July 17 &18, 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and July 19 8:30 a.m. - noon only.

All applicants must provide the following to qualify for this subsistence hunt:

  1. State of Alaska drivers license or photo ID.
  2. Current valid State of Alaska resident hunting license.
  3. at least one of the following forms of official documentation linking you to your physical address:
    1. Voter registration card
    2. Electric or Utility bill (provided that is lists your physical address)
    3. PFD documentation
    4. Tax documentation
    5. Rental or lease agreement
    6. Documentation of stored household goods.
  4. Appliants may prove rural residency with signed affidavidt provided by another qualified hunter.
  5. Vehicle registration is no longer accepted as proof of rural residency.

Minor children 16 and younger, must bring with them proof of completing hunter safety certification.  Parents or Legal Guardians signature will be required to permit minor children.

Mandatory Reporting

All GMU 13 and 13b Federal Subsistence permitees are required to return harvest information necessary for management and conservation purposes.  If you fail to comply with this reporting requirement, you will be ineligible to recieve a susbsistence permit for that activity during the following calendar year.

Hunt reports are due within 5 days after taking an animal. 

Hunt reports for any remaining unused or unsuccessful harvest permits are due 15 days after the end of the season.

Note:  Paxson Lake, up to ordinary high water, including its frozen surface, is under State jurisdiction and therefore is CLOSED to federal subsistence hunting.  See map>>
