Find the UTM reference for the NE corner of Jackson, LA USGS quadrangle (7.5 minute).

A. Set-up

1. Zone number: 91° ÷ 6 = 15.2
   rounding downward 15.2 becomes 15
   30 - 15 = 15 (Zone number).
2. Central meridian for zone 15: 93°
3. Angular Difference (AD):
   CM 93° 00' 00" = 92° 59' 60"
   point  91 07 30 =   91 07 30

B. UTM determination

1. Locate the table for Lat. = 30° 52' 30" (see figure 15)
2. Locate the line in table for = 1° 52' 30" (AD)
3. Point is east of CM (91° 07' 30" is less than 93°)
4. Easting (from table) = 679,250.9 meters
   rounded to: 679,250 meters (10-meter precision)
5. Northing (from table) = 3,417,070.9 meters
   rounded to: 3,417,070 meters (10-meter precision)

C. Result: UTM reference = Z15 E1679250 N3417070.
