trade unions, and socialist and cooperative societies. It made investigations,
published a newsletter for many decades, and served as a pressure
group in such areas as women's work and its regulation and safety;
maternal and child care; education; housing; and institutional care
for the elderly and disabled. In 1918, the Women's Labour League
disappeared as a separate organization and became an integrated
part of the Labour Party, as the Labour Party's Women's Organisation.
It continued under this name until 1977, when separate proceedings
for the Women's Organisation were taken over by the Labour Party.
