The Conference Planning Team looks forward to welcoming you to Dallas, Texas for the 2009 edition of the National Immunization Conference! Information about the conference will be posted here as it becomes available - please check back for updates.

 

Conference Goals and Objectives

The goals of the Conference are to provide information that will help participants provide comprehensive immunization coverage for all age groups and explore innovative strategies for developing programs, policy, and research to promote immunization coverage for all age groups. The Conference Education Program Objective is: To bring together a wide variety of local, state, federal, and private-sector immunization partners to explore science, policy, education, and planning issues related to immunization in general and vaccine-preventable disease. During three and a half days of plenary sessions and workshops, many topics will be discussed, including:

Adolescent Immunization * Adult Immunization * Assessment
Barriers to Vaccination * Community and Partnerships
Childhood Immunization * Cultural Diversity * Global Immunization
Surveillance * Health Communications * Health Education
Policy and Legislation * New Vaccines and Vaccine Development

Conference Agenda

The 43rd National Immunization Conference will open at 9am on Monday, March 30, 2009 and close around 12:30pm on Thursday, April 2, 2009.

The agenda is subject to change without notice. The Conference Planning Team urges that caution be used when making non-refundable travel arrangements.

Content (talk titles, speaker names, links to presentation abstracts) will be added to the agenda as it becomes available.

Conference Registration

Registration fees and deadlines for the 43rd National Immunization Conference are as follows:

  • "Early Bird" registration (through January 30, 2009): $225
  • Regular registration (through March 13, 2009): $250
  • Late and on-site registration (after March 13): $275
  • One-day registration is $150 and allows for attendance for one day of three and a half days the conference. To attend more than one day, a complete registration must be purchased.

Abstract Submission

The deadline to submit abstracts for the 43rd National Immunization Conference (November 14, 2008) has passed. Abstract are currently under review.

Authors were notified of decisions on abstract acceptance via email on December 29, 2008. If you submitted an abstract and have not received notice of a decision, please contact the Conference Planning Team at nipnic@cdc.gov or 404-639-8225.

Ad Hoc Meeting Request

Conference planners are pleased to make available a limited amount of space at the conference hotel for small group ad hoc meetings, subject to certain guidelines and criteria. Read more, and submit your ad hoc meeting request, at the link below:

Request space for your Ad Hoc Meeting

The deadline to request ad hoc meeting space at the 43rd National Immunization Conference is February 27, 2009. However, since a limited amount of space is available and it will be assigned on a "first-come, first-served" basis, you are encouraged to submit your request as early as possible.

Exhibit Registration

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sponsors a non-profit (not-for-profit) exhibit at the National Immunization Conference. . The deadline to register for exhibit space at the conference is January 23, 2009.

Reserve space for your Non-Profit Exhibit

A separate-but-concurrent vendor exhibit is held in conjunction with the conference, sponsored by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. For more information about the vendor exhibit, please contact Ms. Sharon Cooper-Kerr, at 301-656-0003x14 or SCooper-Kerr@nfid.org.
