Oxygen Supply

Back to The MINER Act of 2006 and Related NIOSH Activities

Overview

An overview of issues related to oxygen supply in mining is forthcoming.

Contracts and Grants

Researchers at NIOSH's National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) will facilitate the development and commercialization of the next generation of self-contained self-rescuers (SCSRs) through competitive grants. They have projected that new and improved SCSRs could be developed, tested, and submitted for certification within the next 24 months. Two requests for proposals to accomplish this have been announced, and a third more general request is forthcoming.
