Included in this section are a variety of electronic resources useful for pursuing further research in this topic. Included are both freely available and subscription databases, e-journals, links to information about teaching and research programs focusing on globalization, and Library of Congress authorized subjects.      Link directly to bibliographic citations and sample text of publications on globalization in this online library which includes not only books but also articles in journals, magazines, newspapers and encyclopedias.
Availability: A fee-based resource accessible by subscription. However, bibliographic citations and some text of each publication is available for free. Inquire at your local library about access. You may also purchase an individual subscription for access to full text. Not available at the Library of Congress.

WDI Online

     World Bank publishes the World Development Indicators database that covers "575 indicators 208 countries, and 18 regional and income groups. The extensive collection of development data includes social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators." Retrieve data, definitions, sources, and footnotes pertaining to globalization. There are several ways of displaying the data indexed: as percentage change, in graphs, and standard export formats.
Coverage: 1960 to 2002, where data are available
Availability: This resource is available for individual subscription. Not available at the Library of Congress.

The World Bank e-Library

    “An electronic portal to the World Bank's full-text collection of books, reports, and other documents.”
Coverage: “Fully indexed and cross-searchable database, over 1,250 titles published by the World Bank during the past several years as well as over 1,800 research working papers- a total of over 3,000 documents. Each new title and working paper is added to the database as they become available.”
Availability: This resource is available to institutions by subscription only. Inquire at your local library about access. Not available at the Library of Congress.

     Provided by the Social Science Research Council. Includes introductory essays on the economic, political, social and cultural aspects of globalization. Includes full-text of selected essays on globalization and questions for advanced high-school and university-level students.
