Welcome to Proctor Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District welcomes you to Proctor Lake, located in Comanche, Texas. Our mission: to provide flood control to the North Central Texas area, supply water to the communities in Comanche, Erath and Hamilton Counties, and to offer some of the best fishing, camping and boating in Texas.

  • COPPERAS CREEK PARK: sites 37 thru 66 are now available on a first come basis. Sites 1 thru 36 are available through the recreation.gov web site or toll free at 1877-444-6777.

    SOWELL CREEK PARK: sites 1 thru 20 are available on a first come basis. Sites 21 thru 61 are available through the recreation.gov web site or toll free at 1877-444-6777.

  • PROMONTORY PARK: This park is open with limited sites. Sites T41 thru T 54 areavailable on a first come basis. Sites 55 thru 99 are available through the recreation.gov web site or toll free at 1877-444-6777. The North Boat ramp and Fishing dock are open for Day Use.

  • HIGH POINT PARK: THIS PARK IS CLOSED, DAY USE HORSE AND HIKING TRAIL PARKING ALLOWED AT THE MAIN ENTERANCE.

Latest News and Updates

Copperas Creek Park, and Sowell Creek Parks are now open and currently operating at normal capacity.

Promontory Park has Group#1 , and the South side of the park are in operation.

All reservable sites for these parks will be available starting April 1, 2008.

We at Lake Proctor thank you for your patience during the prior recreation season flood emergency closures and repairs.
