Help on Searching

To get the maximum number of hits, enter search term(s) in lower-case (e.g., johnson; wyoming; border guard)

Since searches are conducted on a standard U.S. keyboard, do not enter diacritics. If you know the Russian spelling, use the Library of Congress Transliteration System to convert to Latin alphabet.

Enter the transliterated spelling into the search box to ensure the maximum number of hits. Example:

1. Russian spelling: РИД
2. Library of Congress transliteration: RID
3. Hits: REED; RIED; READ

From the list of hits, click on the table of interest.

To locate the term within the table, go to Edit, click on “find in text,” and enter the term.
