Park Manager
Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers

The park manager for the Clarkston office of the Corps of Engineers would like to invite you to visit one of the recreation areas that our staff manages for you on Lower Granite Lake, Lake Bryan and the upper reaches of Lake West, all on the Lower Snake River.  There is a wide array of outdoor activities available at our recreational areas, everything from a peaceful walk along a tree-lined path on the Clearwater& Snake River National Recreation Trail, to fishing for sturgeon at Lower Granite Dam.  There are also opportunities for camping, picnicking, wildlife viewing, boating and hunting for deer, upland birds and waterfowl.

Both Little Goose and Lower Granite Dam feature fish viewing rooms that allow you an up close look at the many species of fish in the Lower Snake River.  Lower Granite Lock and Dam also has a Visitor Center that offers movies, inter-active displays, brochures, guided tours, and a friendly and helpful staff.  The Visitor Center is open seven days a week, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Small group and family tours of the powerhouse and Juvenile Fish Facility are available upon request at the Visitor Center during the summer season.  For larger groups, such as school classes, business groups, etc, please  call (509) 751-0240  for more information.

Due to increased risk of wildfires during the summer months, there is a seasonal ban on open fires June 10th through October 10th.  Charcoal and gas barbecue grills are welcome year-round.

Please browse through our web-site and take advantage of the maps and charts that we have here to help you make your plans.  If you need any additional help, please contact me at the address, phone number or E-mail address given below.  If you have already visited one or more of these areas, I would be very pleased to get your comments and suggestions on how well we met your needs and what we could do to improve your visit next time.
