Picnicking
Several picnic shelter facilities are available throughout Perry Lake. There are four reservable picnic shelters available for use by the public. These shelters are Dedication Point, Swimming Beach Shelter, Old Town Park Shelter and Rock Creek Park Shelter located at Rock Creek Park. Several other picnic shelters are available at no charge and are not reservable.
The picnic shelters at Dedication Point, Swimming Beach and Rock Creek Park are the most popular at the lake, offering the perfect getaway for company picnics and weddings. The Dedication Point Shelter has convenient shoreline access for mooring boats. Recent improvements to the Rock Creek Shelter include electrical and water service and shoreline access.
The Corps of Engineers picnic shelters may be reserved by calling NRRS toll free 1-877-444-6777 or on the internet at www.Recreation.gov. Perry State Park also has several picnic shelters available for reservations. Their phone number is 1-785-246-3449.
A $20.00 reservation fee is charged for the Dedication Point, Swimming Beach, Longview, and Old Town Shelters. The Rock Creek Shelter has electrical and water services and is assessed a $30.00 fee.
