Camping

Photo of Campers

Perry Lake offers many opportunities for campers. Five campgrounds are conveniently located around the lake. The Corps of Engineers maintains Rock Creek, Slough Creek, Longview, and Old Town. In addition, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks maintains Perry State Park. A private concessionaire manages the Rock Creek Marina Campground. User fees are charged for camping in all of the parks. The amount of the fee is based upon the type of facilities provided. Reservations may be made at www.Recreation.gov.

Group Camp Areas

The National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS) is a partnership between the US Army Corps of Engineers and the US Forest Service to provide a “one-stop” shopping experience for a wide range of recreation facilities on federal lands. Reservations are possible for campsites, picnic shelters, and group camp areas through a toll-free phone number (877-444-6777, TDD 877-833-6777), the internet (www.Recreation.gov) and at selected field locations.

Rules and Regulations

The US Army Corps is governed by Title 36, Part 327 of the Federal Code of Regulations for Public Use of Corps of Engineers Water Resources Development Projects. Copies of these regulations may be obtained at the Information Center entrance stations, or via the web at http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_01/36cfr327_01.html.

In addition all state laws apply to the governance of the facility.
