Shoreline Management
The purpose of the Shoreline Management is to provide guidance for the management and protection of the shoreline; establish and maintain acceptable fish and wildlife habitats; maintain aesthetic quality and natural environmental conditions; promote the safe, healthful use of the shoreline for recreational purposes by the public, and achieve a balance between permitted private uses and resource protection for general public use. This plan is applicable to all project lands owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake Project, Kansas.
It is the objective of the Corps of Engineers to manage public property and the private, exclusive use of public property in such a manner as to guarantee the maximum beneficial use by the public. In accordance, all floating structures and any vegetative modifications of project land must be authorized by a Shoreline Use Permit. Permits will be issued for periods of five years. Applicable shoreline use fees are $35.00 for a boat dock permit and $10.00 for Vegetative Modification permit. The Real Estate Branch, Kansas City District, charges an additional variable fee. Three designated boat dock zones are located near the Lakewood Hills subdivision, the Indian Ridge subdivision, and the Hickory Acres subdivision.
