Corps’ St. Paul District restarts its water control website
Release #PA-2008-084; Dec. 3, 2008
SAINT PAUL, MINN. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has restarted its water control website for the public to view water information for the district's locks and dams and reservoirs.
The water control direct address is: https://www.mvp-wc.usace.army.mil
The water control address can also be accessed through the Corps' St. Paul District website at: http://www.mvp.usace.army.mil
The public was directed to an alternate Corps' website for the past year at: www.rivergages.com
|
"Our water control website receives tens of thousands of visit a year," said Mark Davidson, the St. Paul District public affairs officer. "People are checking on water elevation and other water conditions at our 13 locks and dams on the Mississippi River. They are also viewing our reservoir information for the Mississippi River Headwaters area, western Wisconsin and out in the Red River of the North area," he said.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, serves the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, water and wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response. It contributes around $126 million to the five-state district economy. The more than 625 employees work at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states.
