The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers planned, designed, constructed, and today manages Long Branch Lake. The Corps of Engineers is authorized to operate Long Branch Dam and Lake to benefit the nation by providing flood damage reduction, water supply storage, natural resource management, and downstream water quality improvement. Long Branch recreation facilities are operated by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources at Long Branch State Park.
