When visiting Hillsdale Lake be sure to stop at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Center located at the northeast end of the dam. The helpful staff will be happy to answer questions, provide maps and brochures, and help make your visit more enjoyable. You may also be interested in hiking the "Hidden Spring Nature Trail" located on the west side of the visitor center. The hiking trail is 1.5 miles long and winds through a native grassland and an Oak-Hickory timber. The trail is maintained by the Corps and provides an enjoyable hiking experience. Adjacent to the Visitor Center is a 30 x 35 Group Shelterhouse that can be reserved through www.recreation.gov. The shelterhouse provides organized groups with electricity, water, lights and a playground for the kids.
