New Self Service Tools - My Biz and My Workplace

The DoD and all the service components recently launched two new Self-Service modules. These modules allow civilian employees secure, real-time, on-line access to their personnel information, at any time, from their workstations. All Army appropriated fund civilian employees now have a My Biz account. Supervisors also have a My Workplace account.

My Biz and My Workplace are two modules that revolutionize the way employees and managers, respectively, view personnel information about themselves and their staff members and update their own personal information. "These modules use the power of the Internet to put information in the hands of those who own it," said Fran White, director of the Civilian Personnel Management Service (CPMS) Plans and Programs Branch. "Self-Service is an exciting tool that encourages employees to exercise responsibility for their personnel information."

My Biz allows employees secure, real-time, on-line access to view information from their official personnel records including appointment type, position, personal data, salary, benefits, awards and bonuses, and performance. In addition, employees may update their telephone number and email address, disability codes, race and national origin (ethnicity and race identification), and foreign language proficiency online with My Biz. For more details on My Biz visit the Army Civilian Personnel Online site and select the My Biz Home Marketing Material.

My Workplace brings key information to managers and supervisors about their employees together in one place, streamlining the human resources decision-making process and helping to balance managerial tasks with day-to-day demands more easily. My Workplace keeps managers and supervisors informed about their employees' personnel actions. With quick and easy access to employees' personnel information, managers are able to make budget decisions, staffing plans, and work distributions more efficiently. For more details on My Workplace visit the Army Civilian Personnel Online site and select the My Workplace Marketing Material.

User-friendly My Biz and My Workplace are rapidly advancing the DCPDS human resources function - enabling DoD to more effectively meet the mission every day. Said Jan Hoffheins, director of CPMS' Regionalization and HR Systems Modernization Division, "These modules are changing the way we work, empowering employees by not only providing access to important information, but allowing individuals to take action."

Employees Can Retrieve Their Own SF-50
Army civilian employees can retrieve their own Standard Form 50 (SF-50) from the Civilian Personnel On-Line (CPOL) Portal. Employees must have an active Army Knowledge On-Line (AKO) account, with a valid AKO password to access the site.
