The Army uses an automated system called Resumix to fill vacancies. The system uses state-of-the-art optical character recognition (OCR) software and a patented skills extraction system to read your Resume, extract skills and match them to job requirements.

Although we can accept Resumes sent by e-mail or traditional surface mail, we strongly encourage you to use our on-line, interactive Resume Builder. By using the Army Resume Builder, you will save time and the cost of mailing and be less likely to miss consideration because your Resume was not received in time, was incomplete or was not in the proper format. In addition, by using the Resume Builder, you will receive immediate confirmation that your Resume was received and processed.

Change in Veterans' Preference Eligibility

The National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2006, signed into Public Law by the President on January 6, 2006, expanded the definition of a veteran for eligibility and RIF purposes. To ensure that our employees are aware of these changes, Army requested each CPAC to advise its serviced population of the change and the procedures for submitting documentation pertaining to veterans' preference.

The following memo provides information about a change in veterans' preference eligibility and how eligible veterans can claim veterans' preference for RIF.
