Who We Are

The U.S. Army Corps Engineers planned, designed, constructed and today manages the dam and wildlife management land at Smithville Lake Project. Clay County Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites manage the recreational park areas. The Corps of Engineers is authorized to operate Smithville Dam and Lake to benefit the local area by providing flood damage reduction, recreation, water supply and storage, fish and wildlife management.

The Corps team at Smithville Lake is proud to provide a wide range of professional knowledge and skills such as Wildlife Management, Natural Resource Management and Parks and Recreation Management to help manage the land and waters of the lake.
