Important Information for Broadcasters
Many registrants are actually local television outlets that carry the program live on education, government and public access channels. The program is free, closed captioned and in the public domain.
About Education News
Education News Parents Can Use features a live 'magazine style' format, viewer call-ins and spirited discussion. Here are some details you may be interested in:
When: Live every third Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET, during the school year, September-June (except December).
Running Time: The actual running time for the program is 58:30 to allow for local announcements.
How To Receive: There are two ways to receive the program: via satellite or by ordering copies.
Via Satellite
For broadcast, cable or viewing facilities with satellite downlink capabilities, we are on K & C Band. Satellite Coordinates are FREE. However registration is required.
- Register for one broadcast or the whole season at the top of this page or at: http://registerevent.ed.gov/. Call 1-800-USA-LEARN for further assistance.
- Please visit the FAQ section for answers to the most common questions about the registration process and how to obtain satellite coordinates.
Copies
For broadcast facilities without satellite capability, we offer a monthly mailing list. Copies will be shipped approximately three weeks after the original broadcast. More ordering information.

Spanish Language Version
Education News offers copies of the show dubbed into Spanish by a professional Spanish-language moderator. Tapes will be shipped approximately four weeks after the original broadcast. More ordering information.

Promo
Education News offers a 30-second promo, with 20 seconds of content and 10 blank for local identification. The promo is available in VHS or Beta SP only. Please e-mail Education.TV@ed.gov with your request. Please be sure to include your name, organization or station address and phone number.

Missed a Program
While supplies last, copies of the most recent programs are available free of charge. Tapes are
available 3-4 weeks after the broadcast. More ordering information.

Permission
Permission is granted to broadcast, duplicate and distribute Education News Parents Can Use. The program is in the public domain.

Streaming/Webcast
Some broadcast facilities have expressed an interest in streaming Education News Parents Can Use. The program is available 24 hours after the live broadcast as an archived webcast at connectlive.com/events/ednews. The webcast is available at both modem and network speed, each with open- and closed-captioned options.

Ordering Copies
To be added to the monthly mailing list for English and/or Spanish copies, please e-mail Education.TV@ed.gov with your request. Be sure to include your name, organization or station, address, phone number and format preferences. You can also e-mail this address for one-time requests. Formats are either broadcast quality DVD or BETA SP copies, subject to availability.
