When visiting Rathbun Lake be sure to stop at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Visitor center located at the southwest end of the dam. The helpful staff will be happy to answer questions, provide maps and brochures, and help make your visit more enjoyable.

A new addition to the Visitor Center is the iWatch weather radar system. Provided by the Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, the iWatch program is an information system that reports weather directly to the Rathbun Lake Visitor Center. The iWatch weather system consists of various options including radar, storm watches and warnings, lightning predictor, precipitation/temperature forecasts and surface conditions for the entire U.S. on a local ore regional basis.

In addition to checking on the weather conditions, visitors can also make campsite reservations for Corps parks through the National Reservation Recreation Service at the same computer station. Other tourism interests in the region can also be accessed.

Visitor Center hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
