Marine Mammals Protect Act of 1972

Stock Assessment Reports
Section 117 of the MMPA requires the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service to report periodically on the status of marine
mammal stocks within Alaskan waters. Our Stock
Assessment Reports cover northern sea otters, Pacific walrus
and polar bears. |
Cooperative Agreements
Section 119 of the MMPA authorizes the appropriation
of funds to develop cooperative agreements between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Alaska Native organizations
for co-managing subsistence use of marine mammals.
