Corps To Draw Beaver Lake Down Nearly 6 Feet ROGERS, Ark., Nov. 26 - The high level of Beaver Lake caused by repeated rains during the spring and summer of 2008 is hopefully coming to a close. On Monday, Dec. 1, the Army Corps of Engineers will begin making releases through the hydropower turbines to bring the lake down almost six feet to the top of the conservation pool.
Successful Special Deer Hunt At Clearwater Lake PIEDMONT, Mo., Nov. 25 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clearwater Lake hosted a deer hunt for non-ambulatory hunters on Nov. 8 and 9 in the Watchable Wildlife Area. This was the sixth successful year for this hunt, which is a great asset in helping manage the deer herd in the Watchable Wildlife Area, keeping it from becoming overpopulated.
Corps Holds 3rd Annual Youth Deer Hunt At Millwood Lake ASHDOWN, Ark., Nov. 18 -- The Army Corps of Engineers at Millwood Lake held a Youth Deer Hunt Nov. 1 and 2. Nine hunters were chosen in a random drawing, and among them they harvested six deer. The goal was to expose the young hunters to the outdoors and teach them safe hunting practices and principles.
